Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Part-Time Instructor to join our team, combining the playful, movement-based learning approach of The Little Gym with the hands-on STEM activities from Snapology. The ideal candidate will engage children in both physical activities like gymnastics and creative play-based STEM learning. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with children, has a knack for both physical activity and educational play, and thrives in a fun, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Little Gym: Physical Activity & Gymnastics (https://www.thelittlegym.com/idaho-eagle/)
- Lead structured gymnastics, dance, and movement-based classes for children ages 1-12.
- Promote physical development, coordination, and social skills in a non-competitive, encouraging environment.
- Feel comfortable teaching from lesson plans.
- Guide children through fun and engaging activities that improve their motor skills, flexibility, balance, and strength.
- Use positive reinforcement to create a safe, encouraging atmosphere that fosters self-confidence and teamwork.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized gym space for classes and events.
Snapology: STEAM Education (https://www.snapology.com/idaho-boise/)
- Must be 18 years or older to apply. Must pass all Criminal and Child Clearances.
- Facilitate hands-on STEM activities, including building with LEGO® bricks, robotics, and engineering projects.
- Create an engaging learning environment where children can explore and develop problem-solving skills through structured and free-play activities, both on site and through our mobile division.
- Feel comfortable teaching from lesson plans.
- Help children develop critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills through interactive educational activities.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Manage materials, set up, and clean up of activities and events.
- Experience working with children in a recreational, educational, or coaching setting.
- Background in gymnastics, sports, dance, or physical education is a plus.
- Familiarity or interest in STEM/STEAM subjects or desire to learn.
- Excellent communication and classroom/gym management skills.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and dedicated to helping children grow and learn in a positive environment.
