The Little Gym of Plano | Plano, TX 75093 | Local candidates only, please

Before you apply, please make sure ALL of these are true for you:

  • You live within a reasonable commute of Plano, TX (roughly 15–30 minutes) — this is not a remote or hybrid role, and we cannot consider candidates who would need to relocate or drive 45+ minutes.
  • You have professional or formalized experience working with young children — this means paid childcare, licensed daycare or preschool work, structured camp counseling, coaching, competitive gymnastics/cheer/dance instruction, or classroom teaching/aiding. (Babysitting for family members, neighbors, or on an informal/casual basis does not meet this requirement — we're looking for experience gained in a structured, professional setting.)
  • We're open to all shift timings — mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends — but you must be able to commit to the same weekly time slot on an ongoing basis (our classes run on a set schedule, so kids and parents see the same coach each week).
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!

ARE YOU THE RIGHT FIT?

We're looking for a mature, dependable professional who genuinely loves working with young children — from babies and toddlers (4 months–3 years) through Pre-K (ages 3–6). Our ideal candidate brings real professional experience with kids first, and a background in gymnastics, cheer, dance, or children's fitness as a strong second. If you're energetic, nurturing, and reliable, we'd love to meet you.

THE SCHEDULE

  • 10–35 hours per week
  • Open to all shift timings — mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • Shifts are typically 3.5–5 hours
COMPENSATION

$16–$20/hour based on experience

YOUR ROLE

  • Teach high-energy, engaging classes for babies, toddlers, and young children
  • Guide parents and caregivers during Parent-Child classes
  • Create a safe, positive, and encouraging environment
  • Build strong relationships with children and families
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Answer phones and assist families with enrollment
  • Support the front desk and daily operations
  • Promote and sell memberships, classes, camps, and birthday parties
  • Complete end-of-shift and operational tasks
REQUIRED

  1. Professional experience with young children is non-negotiable. This means paid or formalized work — daycare, preschool, structured camps, coaching, teaching, or competitive gymnastics/cheer/dance instruction. General life experience with kids (siblings, cousins, casual babysitting) does not qualify on its own.
  2. A background in gymnastics, cheer, dance, or children's fitness is a major plus and moves your application to the top. If you have both professional childcare experience and a movement/sport background, you're exactly who we're looking for.
  3. Local to Plano, TX with reliable transportation
  4. Open availability for any shift timing, with the ability to commit to the same weekly time slot on an ongoing basis
  5. Energetic, positive, outgoing personality
  6. Strong communication and customer service skills
  7. Patient, nurturing, reliable, and responsible
  8. Comfortable in a physically active role: lifting, spotting, demonstrating skills, on your feet the full shift

Paid training is provided for the teaching curriculum — but we're hiring for the foundation of caring for and managing young children, which we can't train from zero.

WHAT YOU'LL TEACH

  • Babies (4–10 months): Sensory exploration, tummy time, movement & bonding
  • Crawlers (10–19 months): Movement circuits, exploration & early walking skills
  • Toddlers (20–36 months): Confidence building, movement & beginning gymnastics skills
Pre-K Classes (3–6 years): Parent-independent classes focused on listening, coordination, confidence, social development, and age-appropriate gymnastics skills through structured weekly lesson plans.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Able to get on and off the floor repeatedly
  • Able to demonstrate activities such as jumping, running, and climbing
  • Able to spot and physically support children when needed
  • Able to remain active and engaged throughout the entire shift
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

  • Meaningful work watching children gain confidence and new skills every day
  • Get paid to move, play, sing, and have fun
  • Part-time hours with weekday and weekend options
  • Work alongside an experienced team
